Australia Team Arrived in Lahore For Champions Trophy 2025
LAHORE: The Australian cricket team landed in Pakistan on Monday ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to begin on February 19.
A 14-member group, including head coach, captain Steve Smith, and support staff, arrived in Lahore from Colombo via Dubai. The remaining squad members, comprising 15 players and two additional officials, followed the same route to reach Lahore.
Among the players already in Lahore are Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, Matthew Short, and Adam Zampa.
Australia has opted out of warm-up matches, given their recent involvement in a two-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, where they faced a 2-0 series defeat.
The Kangaroos will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against arch-rivals England on February 22 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Their second match is scheduled against South Africa on February 25 in Rawalpindi, followed by a clash with Afghanistan on February 28 at Gaddafi Stadium.
