Confident Start For Pakistan in Tri Series
In the opening match of the tri-nation cricket series, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs.
In the match played in Christ Church, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first, Pakistan scored 167 runs while batting first and gave Bangladesh a target of 168 runs to win, in pursuit of which Bangladesh could only score 146 runs.
Pakistan’s innings
The national team scored 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, opener Mohammad Rizwan scored 78, Shan Masood 31, Babar Azam 22, Iftikhar 13 and Mohammad Nawaz scored 6 runs.
In the match, the first wicket of the national team fell on the score of 52 in the 7th over when captain Babar Azam scored 22 runs and caught Mehdi Hasan off the ball of Mustafiz. Got out after scoring runs. Than Shan Masood got partnership with Rizwan which helps Pakistan manage 167 runs in 20 overs.
Bangladesh innings
Bangladesh opener Mehdi Hasan was bowled by Mohammad Wasim Jr. for 10 runs, while Shabbir Rahman was caught out by fast bowler Haris Rauf on his own ball.
After that, Mohammad Nawaz caught out Bangladeshi batsman Litan Das for 35 runs in the 13th over, after which Mohammad Nawaz was able to get the fourth wicket of Mossadegh Hussain for Pakistan on the very next ball.
The fifth wicket was taken by fast bowler Shahnawaz Dhani and the sixth wicket was taken by vice-captain Shadab Khan. The next two wickets of Bangladesh were taken by Wasim Junior.
The Bangladeshi players could only score 146 runs in the chase of 168 runs given by the green shirts.
