National Stadium Karachi Renovation in Final Stages
The venue to host three Champions Trophy matches including the opening fixture
KARACHI: The renovation of Karachi’s National Stadium has reached an advanced stage as the venue receives final touches in preparation for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin on February 19.
Project Head Bilal Chauhan stated that construction work has been completed, and finishing touches are now underway.
Chauhan revealed that two modern lifts have been installed in the stadium’s main building, while new LED lights, recently cleared at the port, will soon be installed. Additionally, a state-of-the-art LED screen has arrived in Dubai and is expected to be installed within days. The air conditioning system has been tested and will undergo further analysis once the glasswork on the new building is completed.
The debris from the renovation will be cleared with the help of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and the stadium’s roof will be cleaned after the renovation is fully completed.
The National Stadium in Karachi will host three key matches of the Champions Trophy 2025, including the opening game between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.
