New Rules for International Cricket
New rules for international cricket has been introduced which will be implemented from 2nd October 2022.
According to the new MCC law, there will be a complete ban on shining the ball with saliva, while the act of spitting on the ball will now be considered as tampering.
Apart from this, the law of the batter’s catch out has also been changed, after which if the over is over, the new batsman on the catch out will face the next ball, in case of catch out, the striker end will not change.
According to the new MCC law, the umpire will be eligible to declare a dead ball if any animal or person enters the field.
Apart from this, the decision of a wide ball will be based on the position of the batsman before the bowler’s run-up.
Also, the batting team will get 5 penalty runs for the unnecessary movement of the fielder during the bowler’s run-up.
According to the MCC, mankad will no longer be seen as fair play.
According to the MCC, a player at the non-striker’s end before the ball is delivered can be dismissed if he leaves the crease, while a run-out before the ball is delivered by the non-striker will not count as an over.
If a bowler dismisses the batter on leaving the crease before bowling, such dismissal is called ‘manking’.
It should be noted that the Lord’s-based MCC is the sole authority on the laws of cricket and was established in 1787.
According to MCC, the new rules will be applicable from October 2.
