Pakistan Created History In ODI Cricket

After winning the fourth one-day match against New Zealand, Pakistan secured the first position in the ICC ODI rankings.

After the official release of the ICC rankings in 2005, Pakistan has come to the first position in the ICC ODI rankings for the first time.

Prior to the start of the five-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand, Pakistan’s ranking was fifth. Pakistan is currently ahead of Australia and India by decimal points, if Pakistan wins the fifth match, its lead will be clear, but the rankings may change after the annual update of ODI rankings in mid-May.

After the victory in the fourth ODI, Pakistan’s total rating points have become 113.483, Australia’s rating points are 113.286, while India’s rating points are 112.638. The ICC’s official ODI rankings began in January 2005, a formula developed by the founder of the rankings, British statistician David Candix, has also been applied in previous dates to estimate the positions of teams in the past.

Applying this formula in the past, Pakistan was last in the first position in August 1991, but this position has no official status.

Since the publication of the ranking, Pakistan’s best position has been third.
