Pakistan Finished At The Bottom Of ICC World Test Championship 2023-25
Pakistan finished at the bottom, securing only 27.98% of available points with five wins from 14 matches
Pakistan concluded their ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 campaign on a disappointing note after losing the second Test against the West Indies by 120 runs. The defeat, which leveled the series 1-1, ended Pakistan’s three-match home winning streak in Tests, despite their strong start with a victory in the first Test.
The loss also follows Pakistan’s 2-0 series defeat to South Africa in their previous outing. Before that, Pakistan had secured 2-1 series win against England at home, but their inconsistent performances have kept them struggling for a stable position in the WTC standings.
In the latest WTC 2023-25 points table update, Pakistan finished at the bottom, securing only 27.98% of available points with five wins from 14 matches.
West Indies moved up one spot to eighth after their victory over Pakistan, ending the cycle with a 28.21% points percentage.
Bangladesh claimed the seventh spot with 31.25%, showing significant improvement in their performances as they whitewashed Pakistan in their homeground. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka held onto the fifth position with 45.45%, and New Zealand stood fourth with 48.21%.
India, the WTC 2021-23 finalists, secured third place in the current cycle with 50.00%, while England saw them finish sixth with 43.18%.
The top two positions were dominated by South Africa and Australia. South Africa led the standings with 69.44% after eight wins in 12 matches, while Australia secured second place with 63.73% after a strong campaign, winning 11 of their 17 matches.
South Africa and Australia will now face off in the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord’s, scheduled from June 11 to 16, 2025.
