Pakistan In To The Final Of T20 Worldcup
Sydney: Pakistan qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 final by defeating New Zealand by 7 wickets in the first semi-final.
In the match played in Sydney, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the Kiwi team scored 152 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In replie Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan played aggressively and put together a 105-run opening partnership, which laid the foundation for the victory. On behalf of Pakistan, captain Babar Azam played an innings of 53 runs from 42 balls with the help of 7 fours, while Mohammad Rizwan scored 57 runs, the young batsman Mohammad Haris was outstanding by scoring 30 runs.
New Zealand’s bowlers failed to perform well, with Trent Boult picking up 2 wickets and Mitchell Santner taking 1 wicket.
Earlier, thanks to the innings of 46 by captain Kane Williamson and 53 by Daryl Mitchell, the Kiwis gave Pakistan a target of 153 runs to win. Other New Zealand players include Finn Allen 4, Dion Conway 21, Glenn Phillips 6, James Neesham 14.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 2 wickets while Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket.
Now Pakistan will face the winner of 2nd Semifinal between India and England on Sunday 13th of October 2022
