Pakistan is expected to ‘rest’ Haris Rauf for the tri-series match against South Africa
Sources have revealed that the final decision on Haris Rauf’s selection will depend on the results of his MRI scan.
It’s important to note that Rauf left the field during the 38th over of New Zealand’s innings in the opening match of the series at Gaddafi Stadium. After a medical assessment, he was diagnosed with a low-grade side strain.
In the match, Rauf had taken 1 wicket for just 23 runs in his 6.2 overs. His absence left a gap in Pakistan’s bowling attack, which struggled against Glenn Phillips during the final 10 overs.
The 31-year-old also did not bat, as Pakistan faced a tough 78-run defeat in this crucial match.
Meanwhile, the national team is set to depart for Karachi today and will hold a training session at the newly renovated National Bank Stadium on the eve of their must-win game against South Africa.
