Pakistan Shaheens Becomes The Champions Emerging Asia Cup 2023
Pakistan Shaheens defeated India A to win the Emerging Asia Cup final.
In the final played in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the captain of India A won the toss and invited Pakistan Shaheens to bat first.
Pakistan Shaheens scored 352 runs in the allotted 50 overs thanks to Tayyab Tahir’s brilliant century and Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub’s fifties.
In pursuit of the target given by Pakistan, the openers of the Indian team gave their team a start of 64 runs, but after the first wicket fell, the Indian wickets continued to fall.
Apart from Abhishek Sharma and skipper Yash Dhul, none of the Indian batsmen could stand up to the Pakistani bowlers, who scored 61 and 39 runs respectively.
Chasing the target set by Pakistan Shaheens, India A team was bowled out for 224 runs and thus Pakistan won the Emerging Asia Cup by 128 runs.
On behalf of Pakistan, Sufiyan Muqeem guided 3 Indian players to the pavilion while Muhammad Wasim, Arshad Iqbal and Mehran Mumtaz dismissed two players each.
Pakistan Shaheen’s journey to the final:In the tournament, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 4 wickets in the first match and defeated UAE by 184 runs in the second match.
Pakistan Shaheens lost to India in the third match, while in the semi-final, Pakistan Shaheens defeated Sri Lanka A by 60 runs to qualify for the final.
It should be remembered that the 2019 Emerging Asia Cup was also won by Pakistan while in the 2019 final Pakistan was defeated by India and in 2017 by Sri Lanka.
