Shaheen Asked For Rest in Afghanistan Series

Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars who won the Pakistan Super League (PSL) title for the second year in a row and the player of the final, has said that I called the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and asked for rest in the Afghanistan series.

Shaheen Afridi refrained from naming Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan but said that all three of us had sought relaxation from the PCB and we have also spoken to the board.

Shaheen Afridi’s statement has put an end to speculations that the PCB has given senior players heavy hand rest and that Shaheen Afridi was a candidate for the captaincy in the Afghanistan series. For the first time after the announcement of the Pakistan team, a player has opened his mouth on this sensitive and serious matter.

Shaheen Afridi said that our focus is on Asia Cup and World Cup, want to play more ODI cricket and will be seen in action in New Zealand series.

He further said that Pakistan has a great history of fast bowlers, the performance of this Pakistan Super League gave Zaman Khan and Ihsanullah a chance in the Pakistan team. Hopefully, the way these young fast bowlers performed in the PSL, Similarly, they will also perform for Pakistan in the Afghanistan series and the Pakistani fast bowling corps will be more stronger
