The Biggest Football Event To Begin From Today in Qatar

FIFA World Cup, the biggest international football event, will be inaugurated on Sunday, November 20, 2022 in Qatar with a colorful ceremony.

The first match of the World Cup will be played between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador, while the final will be played on December 18. 64 matches of the mega event will be held in 8 stadiums in 5 cities of Qatar. Defending champions France will defend their title at the event.

In the history of FIFA World Cup, Qatar is the smallest country in the world to host and it has spent more than 200 billion dollars for this event so far. In the opening ceremony, local and well-known artists from all over the world will show a wonderful performance.

This is the first time that a Middle Eastern country is hosting a football World Cup and the first time that the tournament is being held in winter. Millions of fans from all over the world have come to Qatar to watch the tournament. Accommodation and food prices in Qatar are skyrocketing. Fans have decided to watch this historic tournament by getting a one-bed room for several hundreds of dollars.

32 teams participating in the tournament have reached Qatar and have also played warm-up matches before the start of the event.

The Qatar government has made 8 stadiums a wonder for the world by constructing them in a modern style to hold the world’s biggest event. A stadium consisting of 974 containers is an example. Seven matches of the World Cup will be played in this stadium. Another unique thing is that this stadium is temporary, meaning that the shipping containers and seats used in the stadium will be removed after the football World Cup. Toilets, waiting rooms and changing rooms have also been built in some of the containers. 974 shipping containers have been used in the construction of the stadium. This stadium in Doha with more than 40,000 seats has been designed by the renowned company. The stadium is named after the country’s dialing code and the number of shipping containers used in its construction, 974.

32 teams will compete for the trophy in FIFA World Cup Qatar. All the teams are divided into 8 groups of four each. Group A includes Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands. England, Iran, USA and Wales in Group B, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland in Group C, France, Australia, Denmark and Tunisia in Group D, Spain, Costa Rica, Germany and Japan in Group E, Belgium in Group F, Canada, Morocco and Croatia are included. Group G includes Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon, Group H includes Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea.

Four group matches will be played on a daily basis for 12 days and two teams from each group will qualify for the next stage.
