Wasim Akram Slammed Pak Batsmen For Not Batting According To Modern Requirements in T20s

Former national team captain Wasim Akram slammed the national team’s batsmen for not batting according to modern requirements in the T20 series against England.

Talking to Pakistan’s batting coach Mohammad Yousuf on television, Wasim Akram said that players should forget 360 degrees and try to play at least 180 degrees.

Wasim Akram questioned the Pakistani players’ ability to hit boundaries around the ground and said that once Ben Duckett is set, he does not spare the bowlers, especially the spinner and plays strokes around the wicket but in our team I don’t think any batsman has such variety even our batsmen don’t even try to do something new outside of traditional batting.

The former captain said that asking about playing at 360 degrees is too far. Our players should play at 180 degrees. If you practice for those shots then why it doesn’t implemented in matches?

National team batting coach Muhammad Yousuf said, “I am very serious about making the batsmen work on this. During practice, when the batsmen play the spinners, I stand behind them and tell them about the different shots and how to play which ball.

Muhammad Yousuf said that the first stage is net practice and then the second stage is to practice it during practice matches but we cannot do many things at once, we tell the players what the purpose is. In modern cricket a batsman should know how to hit a boundary on every type of ball but if a ball is difficult then take a single on it that is the requirement of modern cricket, the players understand this thing and they are trying.
