Asia Cup in Pakistan But India Will Play Outside

Asia Cup 2023 is likely to be held in Pakistan, while England is also included in the list of neutral venues for India’s matches.

According to cricket website Cricinfo, the final decision on the neutral venue has not been made, UAE, Oman and Sri Lanka are also on the list.

According to the report, the matches between Pakistan and India are likely to be played at neutral venues outside Pakistan, five matches are being planned at neutral venues.

These five matches also include at least 2 matches between Pakistan and India. For the six-nation Asia Cup, Pakistan and India are in one group with the qualifiers, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in the same group.

The Asia Cup is scheduled in September which consists of 50 overs format. Various options were discussed in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in UAE, but no final decision has been taken.

This year, the Asia Cup will be played on 50 over formate with Pakistan and India expected to compete three times.

The Asia Cup is hosted by Pakistan, a working group has been formed for the scheduled travel plan of the Asia Cup, the broadcasters will also be consulted before the final decision.

In the ACC meeting, India reiterated its position of not going to Pakistan, while Pakistan has asked to withdraw from the tournament if a decision is taken to take the entire tournament outside Pakistan. Pakistan and India apparently agreed to hold the Asia Cup at two places, however, holding the Asia Cup at two places would depend on logistics.
